The "X-Series Tactical Light Modular System (Fixed Position)" is a specialized tactical light system built on an AR-15 and developed to reduce or eliminate barrel shadowing with rifles for home defense, CQB, and other defensive applications. It utilizes specially designed high-power LEDs, centrally located and free floating around the barrel to provide up to a 100-degree wide light beam, effectively reducing or even eliminating barrel shadowing completely. It accomplishes this by reducing or canceling out the opposing barrel shadow from each single light source with another opposing light source, effectively replacing the shadowing with more illumination.
While traditional lights rely on one-sided placement, providing limited peripheral view coupled with significant forward placement as an attempt to provide wide illumination for these applications, we took a different approach. Modular System
This is a modular system! The X-Series Tactical Light is a module that can be completely removed and replaced with another light module, without changing the entire system. This provides the user the option to change illumination colors with other X-Series tactical light modules or a different type of light module completely. The module is securely connected to power through a triple insulated micro-usb interface cable to maximize protection against varying temperatures, scrapes, impacts, and other wear conditions.
Fixed Position X-Series Light Module
The X-Series Tactical Light Module is secured to a fixed position bracket. This fixed position bracket is secured to our modular power system (x-1). This light module designed to free float around the barrel and sit directly in front of the handguard / forend. However, this fixed position setup also provides capabilities to recess the light module into the very front of the handguard / forend. Please see our list of compatible handguards / forends for recessed mounting capabilities.
Utilizing this system requires specific measurements to effectively mount. A measurement from the very top of the bottom accessory rail to the very bottom of the barrel. This measurement should be no larger than 1 inch for proper fitment, but there is a tolerance of 0.15 inches for very minor adjustment. Please see the photos for more information on this measurement. If your measurement falls outside the acceptable adjustment tolerances, please see out "Adjustable Position" system. Forward movement of the x-series tactical light module can be done through moving the modular power system forward in the ring mount to the desired position.
